Fitted carpet cleaning in Lviv

A fitted carpet differs from a rug in one decisive way: you cannot lift it, beat it and send it to a workshop. It is glued down or fixed around the edges, it runs wall to wall — and it has to be cleaned where it lies. That is exactly why fitted carpets go uncleaned for years: a rug can be carried out, a fitted carpet seemingly cannot.

Clean Whale cleans fitted carpet with an extractor right in the room. The price is UAH 130 per square metre, counted on the actual area of the covering rather than the area of the room.

How the cleaning goes

1. Dry pass — a professional vacuum pulls sand and dust out of the base of the pile.
2. A solution matched to the fibre: synthetic, wool or a mixed weave.
3. A few minutes of dwell time so the dirt releases from the fibre.
4. Extraction — the machine injects the solution under pressure and draws it straight back out with the dirt.
5. A final pass to lift and comb the pile so the covering dries evenly.

Drying, and what to do next

After extraction the carpet is damp, not wet: you can walk on it after 4–6 hours and it dries fully in 8–12. Faster in summer, slower in winter. To speed it up, open the windows and turn the heating on. Put furniture back only once it is dry, or the legs will leave marks in the damp pile.

What cleaning removes and what it does not

Fresh coffee, wine, juice and grease almost always come out. Pet marks are removed along with the smell, though deeply soaked patches sometimes need a second pass. Burns, sun-faded stripes and areas worn down to the backing will not come back — the fibre itself is damaged there, and that is no longer a question of dirt.

What your area costs

The arithmetic is simple: UAH 130 times the square metres of covering. A 12 m² room is UAH 1,560, an 18 m² room 2,340, a 6 m² hallway 780. If the carpet runs through several rooms, the areas add up and the minimum order is reached sooner.

Furniture standing on the carpet is not counted as area — we clean what is reachable. If a cabinet can be moved, mention it in advance: the patch underneath is usually the darkest, and the difference afterwards is obvious.

How often to clean it

Once a year in a home without pets. Twice with a cat or a dog, and not because of stains but because of hair, which works into the pile and does not come out with an ordinary vacuum. In an office with foot traffic, quarterly: street dirt arrives daily, and in three months a light covering darkens along the walking lines.

Between cleanings

• Vacuum twice a week, slowly and in two directions, so the machine reaches the sand in the base rather than only the surface.
• Blot a fresh stain, never rub — rubbing drives it deeper into the fibre.
• Keep a mat at the front door; it stops most of the street sand.
• Do not dry damp patches with a hot hairdryer: synthetic fibre mats together.

Price and minimum order

UAH 130 per m² — the same rate as rug cleaning. The minimum dry-cleaning order is UAH 2,000, so 15 m² of fitted carpet already meets it. Travel within Lviv is included.
