Cleaning after builders in Lviv

Cleaning after builders is priced not by rooms but by area: UAH 150 per square metre, with a minimum order of 3,000. A 45 m² flat is UAH 6,750, a 65 m² flat 9,750, a 120 m² house 18,000.

Why there are usually two visits

Construction dust is a fine mineral fraction: it stays airborne for hours and settles again. One visit gives a result that lasts until the next morning, after which the flat looks untouched.

So the scheme is two visits: a rough clean as soon as the crew leaves — the bulk of the dust, mortar off the floor, leftover materials; and a final clean before the furniture arrives, once the rest has settled. At least a day has to pass between them, or the second visit is pointless.

What is included

• dust from every surface, including the tops of cupboards, radiators and door frames;
• the floor in three or four passes with the water changed;
• mortar, filler and paint off tiles and floors — mechanically, with a scraper;
• sanitary ware and tiling in the bathroom;
• ventilation grilles and window drainage slots packed with dust.

What is not

Removing building waste is a skip, not cleaning: we do not take away bags of leftover materials. We do not strip paint from the facade, do not clean windows from outside and do not do demolition.

We say this before the booking. Waste is the commonest misunderstanding: it has to be taken away by the contractor before we arrive, or half the time goes on working around it.

Windows after building work

They cost UAH 450 per window instead of the usual 320. The difference is not a markup but the work: protective film on the profile, tape, splashes of primer and paint come off by hand, and paint off the glass with a blade on wet glass.

If the film has been in the sun for over a year, the adhesive polymerises and it comes away in pieces — the longest part of the job.

How long it takes

A one-room flat after cosmetic work is a working day for a team of two. After a full refurbishment, or in a new build, it is two days or two separate visits: most of the time goes not on the area but on repeated passes, because the dust settles in between.

A house is different again: stairs, a terrace and a boiler room add surfaces a flat does not have.

What we need from you

Water and power on site. Without water, cleaning after building work makes no sense — there is nothing to dilute with and nothing to rinse with. If there is no water, say so in advance: the cleaner brings canisters, but the work takes longer.
