Chairs and armchairs are cleaned less often than sofas and are dirtier more often: people eat on dining chairs, sit in office chairs for eight hours, and a decorative armchair stands in a walkway collecting everything that passes.
What it costs
The unit is the seat:
- dining chair with an upholstered seat — UAH 199;
- office chair — UAH 299;
- armchair with arms — UAH 450;
- upholstered headboard — UAH 699.
The minimum order for upholstery work is UAH 2,000. Six chairs come to UAH 1,194, so they do not reach the minimum on their own; they are usually booked with a sofa (UAH 1,299) or a carpet.
Where the dirt actually is
On a chair it is the front edge of the seat and the top of the back — the places hands and clothing touch. Those darken first, and they are what shows the set has not been cleaned, even when the rest of the fabric is still light.
An office chair adds its mechanism: the castors and gas lift wind hair and dust into a dense felt that stops the chair rolling. That is removed separately, with scissors, and has nothing to do with cleaning — but without it a clean chair still behaves badly.
How long it takes
A chair is about ten minutes, an armchair up to half an hour. A set of six chairs plus drying is half a day, of which the work itself is an hour: the rest is the fabric drying.
Drying is three to six hours. Do not sit on a damp seat: the moisture goes from the cover into the foam, and instead of a clean chair you get damp foam with a smell.
Leather and faux leather
Neither is cleaned by extraction. They need their own products and a conditioner, and there is no such item in our price list — we say so before the booking, not after the cleaner arrives.
The fabric matters more than the price
Hopsack and chenille on dining chairs take extraction without restriction and survive several cleans a year. Velour needs care: the pile is not pressed or rubbed against its direction, or the seat keeps a shiny patch more visible than the dirt was.
It is worth checking the label under the seat. An S means solvent only: water leaves a ring at the edge of the treated area, and nothing removes it.
