A carpet is cleaned where it lies: the extractor injects the solution into the pile and pulls it back out with the dirt. Nothing is taken away — so no furniture has to be emptied and there is no week of waiting.
What it costs
The unit is the square metre: UAH 130. A 2×3 metre carpet is 6 m², so UAH 780; a 3×4 is 12 m² and UAH 1,560. Fitted carpet is priced the same way, by the area covered.
The minimum order for upholstery work is UAH 2,000. A 6 m² carpet does not reach it on its own, so it is usually booked with a sofa (UAH 1,299) or a mattress.
How long it dries
Six to twelve hours depending on the pile and the airflow. A thick wool carpet takes longer than short-pile synthetic. Do not walk on a damp carpet: fresh dirt packs straight into the open pile.
What works with what
Synthetics — polypropylene, polyester, nylon — take extraction without restriction. Wool needs a neutral product and cool water: alkali destroys the fibre and hot water shrinks the carpet at the edges.
Viscose is not cleaned by extraction — it darkens from water and the marks stay for good. Handmade silk is not our work either: it is cleaned dry in a workshop. We say so before the visit, because a ruined carpet costs more than any clean.
What comes out and what stays
Extraction lifts everyday soiling from the base of the pile, dust, pet hair, wear in the traffic path and most food stains. Odour goes with its source if the source is in the pile rather than the backing.
Sun bleaching, rust marks, old paint and iodine stains and pile worn through to the backing do not come out — that is wear, not dirt.
How often to clean
Once a year in a home without animals and twice with them. More often is not better: every wet clean is stress for the fibre, and a carpet cleaned quarterly ages faster than one vacuumed properly and cleaned once a year.
On the floor and on the wall
A carpet on the floor is cleaned in place — furniture is moved to the free part of the room rather than taken out. A carpet on the wall comes down, and that is a different job: after cleaning it has to dry flat, or the moisture runs to the lower edge and leaves a line.
One special case is a carpet over underfloor heating. Turn the heating off while it dries: warm floor under a damp pile dries it unevenly from below and leaves streaks across the whole area.
