The balcony is the one part of a flat cleaned less than once a year, and usually not out of laziness: it is unclear where to start, because there are belongings, street dust, cobwebs in the corners and glazing that is not cleaned like a window.
What it costs
A balcony is UAH 250 as an item added to a flat clean. Glazing is counted by section, like a window: UAH 320 per section from the inside. We do not send a cleaner out for a balcony alone — that is the economics of the visit, not meanness.
What is included
- floor, skirting and corners;
- walls and ceiling clear of cobwebs;
- the sill and the railing;
- the drainage slots at the bottom of the glazing — blocked, they leave puddles after rain;
- the drying rack and hooks, if they are on the balcony.
What the cleaner does not do
Does not sort or move your belongings. That is the key condition: a balcony usually holds things only the owner can decide about. We clean the surfaces once the things are dealt with or we are told they can be moved.
We do not clean glazing from outside and do not work at height beyond a step ladder.
Open and glazed
On an open balcony the work is street sand and leaves, and after winter there is always more of it than expected. A glazed balcony adds deposit on the inside of the glass: winter condensation leaves marks that come off with an acidic product rather than detergent — it is limescale from the water, not dirt.
Drainage and puddles
The commonest complaint about a glazed balcony is water on the floor after rain. Nine times out of ten it is not a leak but blocked drainage slots at the bottom of the profile: dust and leaves get in, the water cannot escape and comes back inside. We clear them as part of the balcony clean.
When it makes sense
In spring, together with the windows. That way it is one visit: glazing, window, sill and floor are done in sequence and the cleaner does not carry water twice.
What to do before the visit
Clear the floor — the longest part of the job, and only the owner can do it. A simple rule: if you have not taken something out for two seasons running, it is not being stored, it is taking up space.
