Window cleaning in Sykhiv, Lviv

Windows in Sykhiv are uniform: panel blocks of nine and sixteen storeys with plastic units fitted mostly in the last fifteen years. That makes a booking quick to price — UAH 320 per window including the glass, frame and sill, and a two-room flat almost always has two or three of them.

What the price covers

• glass inside and out where the sash opens;
• the frame on both sides, hardware and seal;
• the sill;
• the drainage slots at the bottom of the profile, where condensation runs out.

A balcony is counted separately at UAH 250, glazed balconies by section.

High floors

The ninth and sixteenth floors are cleaned from the inside, through the opening sashes. We never work outside the window — that is rope access, a separate service with a different qualification.

In practice this means a fixed sash keeps its outer face dirty. We say so before the booking rather than after arriving.

What decides the time

Not the floor and not the size of the window, but two things. First, the state of the sill: if it holds plants and appliances, the first minutes go on clearing it, and that is time you pay for. Second, the screens: an insect screen is taken out, cleaned flat and put back, and three of them add about half an hour.

Drainage and condensation

In panel blocks with sealed units the windows often mist up in winter, and the cause is usually not the glass but blocked drainage slots at the bottom of the frame. We clear them as part of a normal clean — three minutes that remove the puddle on the sill.

How long a visit takes

A standard two-sash window is 15–20 minutes including the frame and sill. A flat with three windows is about an hour, with a balcony an hour and a half. The exact hour is booked in advance: morning slots in Sykhiv go first, as it is the largest district in the city.

Keys and access

If nobody will be home, the keys can be handed over in advance — delivering keys to the cleaner costs UAH 399. For rented flats a keypad lock is easier: the code goes to the manager and the visit happens without you.

When to clean

Twice a year: in spring after the heating season and in autumn before it. In Sykhiv sand blown from the open lawns between the blocks is added to the usual dust, so the spring clean shows more than the autumn one.
